Ingredients:
1 cup of Basmati Rice
50g Jumbo King Prawns (chilled)
1 Egg
1 tin of Garden Peas
2tbsp Sunflower oil
2tbsp Low sodium soy sauce
Instructions:
Making the Basmati Rice:
Place the Basmati Rice and 1 ½ cups of cold water in the saucepan over medium-high heat.
Bring to a simmer – the edges should be bubbling, the middle should be rippling, the surface will be foaming. Then place the lid on top and turn the heat down to medium low.
Cook for 12 minutes and do not open the lid until all the water is fully absorbed.
Remove from the heat and leave it to cool for 5 to 10 minutes.
Making King Prawn Fried Rice with Green Peas:
Pour the Garden Peas in a small saucepan and allow them to cook for 3-4 minutes. Then drain the water using a sieve, pour it back into the saucepan and put it aside for later.
Heat the wok pan and add the Sunflower Oil. Then add the King Prawns into the pan and allow them to cook. (You can also add a small amount of butter to add more flavour as an option.)
Add 100g Basmati Rice in the wok pan and stir-fry the rice. Then add the egg and soy sauce and stir-fry it altogether until cooked.
Finally, add a small amount of garden peas to the pan and stir-fry them altogether. Place your king prawn fried rice with green peas on a plate and enjoy.
